 Before I joined Wealthy Affiliate…

…in January 2016, I came across a “work from home” advert for busy mums on the Internet which lead me to the website of an affiliate marketing company. I knew very little about online marketing or affiliate programs at that time but I knew I wanted to change my life for good, getting out of the rat race and become an entrepreneur instead.

I watched several “trainings” on this company’s website, and even though I had second thoughts at the beginning, I was really convinced within a couple of days by the two charming men talking all sorts of fairy tales on my screen, so much that I was even ready to whip out my credit card to join them when -luckily – the little dubious voice in my head started to whistle the old tune again…so I opened up the big book of Google in literally the last minute, and checked a few reviews of that company – and I am sooooo glad that I did. They turned out to be a very well designed SCAM.

Nevertheless, I was convinced by then that this affiliate marketing stuff should work, if you do it properly. So I read a bit further, and been so very lucky that I came across another scam review as well on one of the websites. This review was about Wealthy Affiliate.

At first it was really hard to believe…

…that such difference might exist between one affiliate program and another. Furthermore I was extra cautious this time given that I nearly lost a fortune with the other program I have found first and then backed off in the last minute. I have spent hours and hours searching for other scam reviews to find at least one which would prove that WA is a scam as well as it seemed to be too good to be true. But I had to realise that this must be the real thing, as after reading through so many reviews, I could not find anybody saying anything negative about it.

As – compared to the other program where even though they claimed money back guarantee and all sorts, you would have to share your credit card details straight away upon registering – joining Wealthy Affiliate was absolutely free, therefore it seemed to be a no-brainer to register and try it without any obligations. And I never regretted this decision since then.

Talking about the price…

…when I say that you can join free that is absolutely, 100% true. Should you decide to stay in with the Starter package only, you would still be able to enjoy a lot more benefits of the membership than anywhere else. Seriously, where else would you get a thorough beginner training course, 2 free websites with backup or access to a high quality keyword research tool for free? With Wealthy Affiliate, you get all of this, for the cost of $0. (Yes, that is a big fat ZERO there)

Even better, during the first 7 days of your membership, you get access to absolutely everything, as if you bought the Premium package. This is to show you what extra advantages you could get, should you decide to upgrade later on. But – unlike anywhere else – there is absolutely no pressure for you to do so. Of course after your first 7 days your access to certain features will get limited until you upgrade, but even with the Starter membership you can get quite far, building up your websites (2), starting up your business and hopefully earning some commissions.

So what do you get when you become a member?

First of all let’s have a quick look at what is affiliate marketing exactly. You can read a more detailed article about it here.

Basically the essence of being an affiliate is to promote products or services offered by other people or companies, and earn commission in return. This could be literally anything and everything (within legal and moral grounds of course) the limit is the sky only. You choose a “niche” – preferably an area where you have some sort of expertise or a hobby you like – and create a website around that topic. When people would like to buy something and do their research first, they will go to your website for information and advice. If you can offer what they are looking for, chances are that they will click on one of the affiliate links on your page which will lead them to the product they are after. If they finalize the purchase, you will get commission from the seller, for example Amazon, just to name one.

When you join Wealthy Affiliate, you can decide whether you want to place the main emphasis on your preferred niche, or you would like to promote Wealthy Affiliate instead. You can do both, of course, there are no limitations on how many different affiliate websites you might have.

Should you decide to promote WA, you can expect the following commission:

The cons

After the nearly endless list of pros, there must be some cons as well, right? Well here is the thing: it is very difficult, almost impossible to find some.

As you will hear Kyle – one of the owners – and other experienced members of the community mentioning it a few times, this is by far not a “get rich quick scheme”. If you want easy money, you will need to find it somewhere else (give me a shout when you found it, I will wait here until then :)). When you sign up for Wealthy Affiliate, you basically commit to a lifetime of studying and self improvement. In order to achieve your goals, you will need to stay focused.

However the amount of information available and the activity level of the community might cause distraction sometimes, as you continuously discover more and more topics which you would want to understand and study in depth and thus could easily lose your focus. Therefore my advice is to follow the basic training course first, lesson by lesson, task by task, don’t hesitate to ask questions from other members if you are struggling with something, but once you have the answer, get back to where you left off, to maintain your progress. Once you have the basics right, your website is up and running, and hopefully starts to generate some income, you can wonder off your path sometimes to get a more thorough understanding of a certain area or topic and then fine-tune your site accordingly.

Is Wealthy Affiliate for me?

Well…it depends. Do you want to work for somebody else from 9 to 5 for the rest of your life or you would rather obtain financial freedom? Do you enjoy commuting to work every day in rush hour traffic or you would prefer working from your living room in your own schedule? Are you willing to put in the extra effort, consistent hard work and commitment at the beginning so that you eventually achieve a passive revenue steady enough to sack your boss? Can you imagine doing anything else/better for 8 hours a day than your current job?

Do you have a computer/laptop, tablet, iPad, or a mobile phone, even? Do you have internet connection on any of these?

If your answer is yes to any or all of the above questions then Wealthy Affiliate is definitely for you. You don’t need anything else other than your commitment and willingness to learn new things to start. The rest will follow.

Why don’t you join Wealthy Affiliate for free without any obligations to see it with your own eyes? Nothing and nobody could explain better than your own experience!
